Silvia Olmedo is a licensed psychologist and specializes in promoting health. As well as her studies in sexology and her research in human conduct she is an expert in mental and sexual health education. Her educational background and professional expertise is extensive; with professional experience in: Spain, The United Kingdom, Holland, Australia and Mexico. Currently she hosts two television programs on telehit, (one about psychology and one about sexuality) and participates in two other programs: Mojoe, Miembros al aire and channel two programming, Hoy.

In her research, Silvia Olmedo is the practicing research department director for a company well known in the health and psychology industry. In September 2009 she began extensive research in erotic and romantic conduct in Mexico. Silvia Olmedo is also a lecturer, a member of the “Women's Health” editorial committee, writes for “Notas para ti” and collaborates with government organizations, such as “Mexico Vivo” promoting HIV education and prevention and is a part of the directive committee for “Vive Consiente,” giving educational lectures on HPV prevention. While hosting a sexuality television show with Kristoff she also hosts a psychology program (her professional dream; an opportunity that came to her thanks to Guillermo del Bosque wagered his support, and in 2008 “Cuentamelove,” a program about psychological disclosure aired for the first time, which tackled a vast array of themes: from self esteem to suicide, pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

In an interview in Notimex, she emphasized that throughout her very diverse collaborations on radio and television she has obtained information which has given her the opportunity to launch her book, on the topic of settling conflicts and problems regarding sexuality and self esteem in teenage girls.

In March 2009, at the age of 34, her dream of publishing a book focused on psychology, called “Preguntale a Silvia... Los Secretos de Eva” became a reality. “I talk about these themes, that affect women of today but that are hard to tackle, in a fun way”; the protagonist, Eva, is faced with a great many conflicts that she becomes determined to solve herself. “Anyone who reads this book can relate with Eva and find an answer to their own self-doubts,” she assures. Her book has sold more than 20,000 copies and is now in its third edition. “Ask Silvia” has been recognized by the field of academia as one of the most psychologically revealing books published. On November 16, 2009 she was awarded a prize by the Women of Mexico Chamber of Commerce for her labor in the field of Psychology in Mexico for spreading awareness in psychology.
