Aleks Syntek

Raúl Alejandro Escajadillo Peña (born September 29, 1969 in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico), better known as Aleks Syntek, is a Mexican singer, songwriter and producer.[1]

Biography

Aleks Syntek is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and singer from Mexico. He is visionary musician, well respected by the music critics all over latinamerica because he has has been considered a cornerstone in the evolution of the contemporary Latin music scene over the last 15 years. He also was considered a young prodigy Genius because Syntek Sold Platinum at the age of 18 working as a Producer and Composer.

Music career

IAleks has worked with an eclectic variarity of huge stars from all over the world like Alejandro Fernandez, Ruben Blades, Kylie Minogue, Helena Paparizou, Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, Soraya, Ray Manzarek (The Doors), among others. He has also shared the stage performing with artists like Celia Cruz, Juanes, Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Duran Duran, Shakira, Miguel Bose, Juan Gabriel, Armando Manzanero, Juan Luis Guerra, Placido Domingo and The Philarmonic Orchestra of the Americas. His credits not just include Pop and Rock music but also instrumental score for movies & short movies with extraordinary results when In 1999 he received the Mexican Academy Movie Award "Ariel" on the category of “Best movie Score” for “Sexo, Pudor y Lagrimas" (Sex, Shame & Tears). He also worked for Disney Latino writing and singing the Spanish adaptations of Randy Newman's "Toy Story 3" who won the Academy "OSCAR" Award for best movie Theme. As a performer and singer he has release 8 albums and reached 3 multi Platinum & Gold albums sold, achieving 2 Billboard Awards, 1 Latin Grammy Award, 5 Latin Grammy nominations and 5 MTV latino Nomination, and other Special awards like "Music Legacy" by Univision awards and "The Honor Composer Achivement" by SESAC Awards (American Society of Composers).

Syntek is credited with singing in the chorus for Somos El Mundo, a production by Latin American artists in order to raise awareness and inspire charity after the tragic earthquake in Haiti. He can also be seen in the music video.

Remix

After the release of Kylie Minogue's single "In my Arms", Syntek released his own official remix with added lyrics. This remix was released in early April 2008. The song has become Kylie's best charted single in Mexico at #7 since "Come Into My World" at #1 in 2003.
