Bernie Clifton (born in St Helens, England) is a British comedian and entertainer, who appeared on the BBC television series Crackerjack with Michael Aspel, Peter Glaze, Don Maclean and Jan Hunt in the 1970s.

His prowess as a trombone player takes him around the world, from the Beijing Olympics to Las Vegas as a member of the 'England Band', supporting major sporting events.

He is most famous for "riding" an ostrich called Oswald, but also is a singer. He was the main character in a 1989 CBBC show with a magic theme called Tricky Business, and also featuring Leslie Schofield (who played Jonny Briggs's father) and the magic of Paul Zenon. Though largely missing from the televisions screens as of 2010, Clifton has made occasional appearances playing himself, such as in the BBC's Love Soup.
