The Rev Dr Ken Chant (born June 6, 1933) is an Australian pastor, ordained in 1952 in the Christian Revival Crusade (now CRC Churches International)[1], an indigenous group of Pentecostal churches.

A brief summary of his ministry would include the following –

He pioneered eight churches and pastored several others, including serving for five years as the associate pastor of the Crusade Centre in Adelaide, which was then (circa 1960) Australia's largest pentecostal church. For several years he was the editor of two of Australia's most successful charismatic/pentecostal journals. He has been the principal of four Bible colleges in Australia and the USA), and has spoken and taught at crusades, conferences, seminars, and colleges in Australia, the UK, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, the Philippines, and New Zealand

Dr Chant has two post-graduate degrees: Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.); and Doctor of Biblical Theology (Th.D), and for the past 25 years has been devoted to a ministry of writing and teaching, throughout Australia and overseas.

Vision International College and University

In 1974, in Launceston, Tasmania, Dr Chant set up a Bible correspondence school, which grew rapidly, and began to expand into other countries. Partly in an effort to enhance this teaching outreach, he and his wife Alison moved to the USA in 1981, where they remained until 1990. In 1985, while they were still in the USA, in San Diego, California, they met Dr Stan DeKoven and his late wife Karen. That meeting led to the founding of Vision International College and University [2], which merged the correspondence courses with a local church campus programme. Since then the college has expanded to a worldwide school, operating in about 140 countries.

Author and Composer

Dr Chant is the author of more than 35 books, including many college texts. In addition he has written large amounts of other curriculum material, lecture notes, and scores of magazine articles. He has also composed a number of gospel songs that have been published in various collections both in Australia and overseas.

He married Alison in 1953, in Adelaide. They have (in 2005) four children and fourteen grandchildren. He is the elder brother of Dr Barry Chant.
