In 1990, Wolfgang Geisinger acquired Ayer's Cliff Industries Ltd, a local machine shop from Ayer's Cliff, Quebec and founded Wulftec. The first stretch wrapping was produced the during the following year. In 2002, M.J. Maillis Group announces the acquisition of Wulftec International Inc., the leading manufacturer of Stretch wrapping machines in Canada.[1] The group's global resources and knowledge have strengthened Wulftec's competitive advantage and ability to provide more solutions to meet the individual needs of clients.
In November 2005, Wulftec announced that it will invest $1.5 million to further increase productivity.[2]
The investment involved a major expansion of Wulftec's plant in Ayer's Cliff, increasing the total surface area from the current 110,000 square feet to a whopping 136,000 square feet. The project was divided into two phases: first the construction of the new addition, and second, the reorganization of the production line.

Turntables
At the end of 2004, Wulftec introduced the SMART™ Series to replace the WHP and WLP semi-automatic turntables. The SMART Series gives flexibility and quick-turnaround; you could now choose the individual components (turntable, tower, carriage and control panel) that will best meet the customers' needs. The SMART series is modular in design significantly reduce delivery time and make machine upgrades easier and less expansive.
In fall 2008, Wulftec standardized the WCA automatic turntable series on the same principles; merging the WCA-150 and the WCA-200 under a unique name: the WCA-SMART™.
