Dear Graeme,

I am the engineer for the last one of these vessels in service as an operational museum ship. When I originally wrote the engine room information and corrected the engine and ship data, I had to battle with all sorts of people who considered that I was not knowledgable on the subject and did not beleive that I actually run the engine room on one of these. I was told that my written text, which was intended to be a helpful contribution could not be accepted. Further, I was going to add all sorts of original photographs etc, which would have enhanced the page immeasurably. Naturally I became frustrated with trying to contribute, more than any one else possibly could I might add, and it was not considered good enough by people who think they know better.

So, then I was politely told to go and write my own page. Therefore, for the avoidance of duplication, and to remove the text that was considered unverifiable, and, considering that it was only applicable to the variants with Gardner engines, I considered that it was not appropriate on the general HDML page. When I try to remove my contribution, others who have not even contributed try to prevent me from doing so. I feel that I should be able to remove my own contribution if I so wish. Especially when to start with no one wanted it anyway. At least the information I wrote was correct, with first hand research of original documentation, and knowledge gained from actually being involved with one of these vessels, having been involved with the rebuild, and actually operating the engine room for some years.

This is more than can be said for some others. Please read some of the comments made by others when I try to communicate.

Regards,
Frusted contributor.

Harbour Defence Motor Launch

Hi John. Thanks for your additions to Harbour Defence Motor Launch. Can you cite your additions with reliable sources? Thanks. --Epipelagic (talk) 00:45, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, John A Weller. You have new messages at Epipelagic's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Medusa

Medusa, as the last HDML to survive in good condition, is sufficiently notable in my view to warrant a Wikipedia article of it own. If you and your Medusa mates want to write that article, it should be titled "HMS Medusa (A353)". I'll give you a hand. --Epipelagic (talk) 04:28, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

removal of material from HDML

You seem to be determined to remove this material. While cited it reads plausibly enough and could probably be cited to support it. What do you feel is the problem with it.GraemeLeggett (talk) 19:10, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
