Dear [User:DGG| DGG]],
Dear [[User:DGG| DGG]],

Thanks for being cool. I thought that a bunch of reference to the Hypnos label, easily one of the top five "ambient music" labels... Hearts of Space, maybe 1-2 more... would be <b>reference enough.</b> That's OK. I'll just copy over refs from the [[Hypnos_(record label)|Hypnos]] page, and more. It's an important indie label, and M. Griffin created it, still runs it, and is the most-released artist on it (which makes sense, since it's his label, after all.)

Here are some pages that I find helpful:

Unix vs UNIX

FYI, Unix is the canonical capitalization used on Wikipedia. "UNIX®" is used by The Open Group. See Unix#Branding for details. --IanOsgood 18:52, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sound-O-Mat (WTF?)

An article of yours is in AFD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sound-O-Mat (label). Joe Chill (talk) 21:21, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck that shit. I'm putting it back. WinkJunior (talk) 21:47, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, I would not.It will be immediately removed and you could be blocked for disruptive editing. Just sayin' Palltrast (talk) 21:49, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Less seriously dude, it was just a funny note to myself. And I could care less if I'm blocked - I have a lot better things to do than waste my time providing free information, or sit around watching for people to change their "talk" pages and immediately comment on them. Chillax already. "Just sayin'" WinkJunior (talk) 21:53, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'm gonna have to put it back, just for User:Joe Chill who ain't chill, and User:Palltrast, who's "just saying'." :)

Fuck you.

M. Griffin is one of the most important ambient musicians alive. Yes, there's a Mike Griffin, football coach. I'd guess people are either looking for one, or the other? Me, fuck the football coach. Who gives a shit about jock crap? And noq - dude, stop being a douchbag.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. noq (talk) 14:16, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of M. Griffin (disambiguation) - great, propose it, but don't then go delete it without a discussion. End get someone who follows music to review this.

There is more than one "M. Griffin". One's a coach, and the other a very well-known ambient musician and founder and co-owner of Hypnos - look it up, plenty of references - that has put out over 100 CDs since it was founded. Mike needs an entry just as much as Robert Rich, who put out four releases over six years on Hypnos.

If that's not justification enough, you need to let someone who knows Hypnos and Robert Rich review this and decide if it should be deleted. You're probably just a sports person. That's fine, and I'm not changing the coach's page, just adding a disabm. page and a short entry for the musician.

In the independent music community, M. Griffin is well known and respected. I am just trying to make an entry for him, so that people interested in Hypnos and over a dozen, well-reviewed CD releases. I have no doubt that most people interested in music could give a darn about some dead football coach.

So I am just trying to create a disambiguation page to be able to point to both "M. Griffin" people.

Isn't that the WHOLE POINT of the disabm. page?? WinkJunior (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear DGG,

Thanks for being cool. I thought that a bunch of reference to the Hypnos label, easily one of the top five "ambient music" labels... Hearts of Space, maybe 1-2 more... would be reference enough. That's OK. I'll just copy over refs from the Hypnos page, and more. It's an important indie label, and M. Griffin created it, still runs it, and is the most-released artist on it (which makes sense, since it's his label, after all.)

So I will _improve_ the article. That's reasonable. And I want to do anyway. Can I just have a couple of days respite to get it done? I have a life, and a couple of jobs... so unlike Wikipedians, I don't have much time to sit around and get all anal about things, y'know? No offense intended. If it gets deleted, whatever. I can get paid for work; Wikipedia doesn't pay me. So what-ever. — WinkJunior (talk) 05:11, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you work on it in your sandbox and then move it to mainspace when it's adequately sourced? Bongomatic 05:47, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Short answer: I'm busy and have _much_ better things to do.
Longer answer: thank you. What's a sandbox and where can I put this stuff until it's done? Really, I'm not trying to be an arsehole, even though I am one, y'know? Thanks!! — WinkJunior (talk) 05:54, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just follow this link: User:WinkJunior/M. Griffin and create the page. It's in what's called your "User space". Once it's ready for prime time there's a way to move it to article space. Bongomatic 07:10, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is however another option: the present page will not be deleted until the 13th. So you have 9 days to improve it. In fact, the present deletion tag is only about the absence of sources; if you can add one substantial 3rd party source relevant to the person's notability, you may remove the tag yourself. The question will then become whether the person is notable independently of the label. The standards are WP:BIO and WP:MUSIC. The notability of the head of an organization as distinct from the notability of the organization is often disputed: there is not simple rule. It's often assumed for the CEOS of very large companies, but I don't think that applies here: You will need references referring substantially to his individual role and career, not just the company.
and, the notability of the label is not indisputable either: some people here may not be willing to induce it automatically on the basis of having multiple notable musicians. You should try to find substantial third party references proving it one of the largest such companies DGG ( talk ) 23:39, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
