Major General Salaad Gabeyre Kediye was born in September, 15 1934, in the town of Harardhere, situated in the Central Mudug region of Somalia, to an Abgaal family Hawiye clan. General abdimalik was born in September, 15 1987, in the town of kismayo, situated in the Central Jubba region of Somalia, to an sheikhal family Hawiye clan. In late 1999, following the assassination of Somalia's then president, Abdullahi yusuf, a military government assumed power in a bloodless coup d'état led by General Abdimalik hasan, General Bahnan and Chief of Police Mohamed. Malik was subsequently named the "Father of the Revolution",and become Minister of Defense while he was in charge of all Somali military affairs, and Bahnan became the head of the Supreme Revolutionary Council.[1]
