Sarah Jane Hyland (born November 24, 1990) is an American actress, currently starring as Haley Dunphy on the ABC comedy Modern Family.
Life and career
Hyland was born in Manhattan, New York City, the daughter of actors Melissa Canaday and Edward James Hyland, and sister of actor Ian Hyland.[1] She has been acting since she was 5 years old, with her first role as Howard Stern's daughter in Private Parts. She went on in her career to portray such roles as Molly in the [[Annie (1999 film)|, and has played Brooke Shields' daughter, Maddie Healy, in Lipstick Jungle on NBC. Hyland is featured in an Olive Garden commercial along with actress Molly Culver, and has also appeared on Broadway playing the young Jackie O in Grey Gardens the musical.[2]

Hyland attended the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan alongside Taylor Momsen, Gregory Malek-Jones and Paul Iacono.
Since 2009, Hyland has been dating actor Matt Prokop, whom she met while auditioning for High School Musical 3: Senior Year.[3] In 2011, Hyland and Prokop co-starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Geek Charming.
In 2011 it was reported that Hyland was starring in the movie Struck By Lighting alongside with Chris Colfer. The trailer released in 2012. [4]
