Contains modern laboratories and equipment in the application of computer industry, automation, networking, and communications both types of analog and digital, and most of these laboratories uses the computer to monitor, control and simulate the signals to the actual real-time, the department also provided with regulations and modern educational methods.

Department of Computer Engineering is one of Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli's. It was was established by the end of 1978, as one of the sections of the Faculty of Nuclear and Electronic Engineering at that time. It's first batch of students started in 1979.[2]
