Gulliver Schools is a group of private co-educational schools. Its management offices are in Coral Gables, Florida.[1] Its campuses are across Miami-Dade County.[2]

School's history and philosophy
Gulliver Academy was as established in 1926 by Arthur Gulliver in Miami’s residential Coconut Grove section. After purchasing the school, Marian Krutulis moved the school to South Dade, an area that would soon undergo a major population explosion. Centered in Coral Gables, there are now five campuses today, each serving a specific age group or targeting a particular student interest or need. Gulliver Preparatory School, opened in 1975, serves students in grade nine through grade twelve and is located nearby in what came to be known as the Village of Pinecrest.
School's mission statement and beliefs
The stated mission of Gulliver Schools, primary through secondary, is to provide a superior college-preparatory education to students whose needs encompass a wide range of natural abilities.
Accreditation
Gulliver Schools is accredited by five agencies: the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS), the Florida Kindergarten Council (FKC), and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). Accreditation, or certification, by these five agencies assure the Gulliver community and the college and university network that Gulliver Schools meets rigorous standards regarding curriculum, teacher credentials, safety, health, governance, and finances.
Student life
More than 2,200 students are enrolled at Gulliver’s four campuses. With more than 45 countries represented, Gulliver’s student body reflects the diverse international character of the South Florida community.
Academics
Gulliver Schools prepares students for future success, and 100 percent of graduating seniors go on to college. The academic programs at Gulliver Schools take students from the first years of essential learning to signature programs, opportunities for honors, IB, and AP work, and extracurricular experiences. The average class size at Gulliver is 16 students; the student/teacher ratio is approximately 8-to-1. Sixty percent of Gulliver Schools administrators and 50 percent of Gulliver teachers hold advanced degrees.
In addition to honors and college preparatory courses, Gulliver offers more than 30 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Gulliver Schools also offers an internship program and dual enrollment opportunities at the University of Miami, Florida International University and Miami Dade College.
Gulliver Preparatory awards the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and has had an overall 100 percent pass rate over the last decade. Gulliver Middle School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) for middle school students and IB Programme for high schools students.
Signature Academic Programs are offered at the Academy and Preparatory campuses. The Academy offers middle school students Gateway to Technology and Gateway to Technology for Girls. The Preparatory Signature Academic Programs include Engineering, Architecture, Biomedical Sciences, and Law & Litigation.
A sample of the prestigious universities to which Gulliver Schools graduates are accepted includes: Duke University, Emory University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, Northwestern University, Rice University, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.

Athletics
Gulliver Preparatory's sports program consists of thirty-five teams. Over the years, Gulliver's teams have won district, regional, sectional, state runner-up and state championships, as well as numerous conference championships.
Gulliver currently competes in the 4A classification. The Miami Herald awarded Gulliver the All Sports Award for having the top program for small schools in Miami-Dade County, and the Florida High School Activities Association ranked Gulliver Schools 2nd in the state in the 2A and 3A classifications dependent upon sport.
The men's cross-country team became the first team to win back to back state titles in Miami-Dade County. They have won three state championships overall. The Girls cross-country team has won two state titles. The Girls Track and Field team won the state title in 1998.
The men's soccer team won the 2A state championship in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2000 and the 3A state championship in 2006.
The football team won the 2A state championship in 2000-2001. That team was led by coaches Steve Howey, Ralph Ortega, Dave Burns, Lee Horn, John McCloskey, and Dirk Moran. It featured future NFL players Sean Taylor and Buck Ortega. In 2008, they went to the 2A state championship once again where they lost to The Bolles School.
The girl's water polo team has won 8 consecutive state championships (2001–2008). They lost in 2009, breaking their 8 year streak. The boy's water polo team won the state championship in 2007.
During the 2007-2008 season the Varsity Men's Tennis team was successful in claiming the state title. They have won 4 titles overall. The girls tennis team has also won 4 titles overall.
The girls softball team has won the state championship twice. The baseball team won the state championship in 2004.
The football field was renamed Sean Taylor Memorial Field on September 5, 2009.
