Stolt-Nielsen Limited (OSE: SNI) is a Norwegian-Bermudean shipping and seafood company. The company has its headquarters formally in London although most of its operations are in Rotterdam, it is listed on Oslo Stock Exchange.

Stolt Tankers

Stolt Tankers is one of the world's largest parcel tanker companies with a fleet of more than 150 ships and barges.

Stolthaven Terminals

Stolthaven operates eight terminals with a total of 2.9 million cubic meters of storage capacity. The company’s three wholly owned terminals are located in New Orleans, Houston and Santos, Brazil. Stolthaven also participates in five joint venture operations: Jeong Il Tank Terminal (Ulsan, South Korea), Oiltanking Stolthaven Antwerp, Stolthaven Ningbo, Stolthaven Tianjin and Stolthaven Westport (Malaysia). A ninth terminal is under construction in Singapore. The company also operates and maintains more than 330 railroad tank cars.

Stolt Tank Containers

Stolt Tank Containers (STC) operates the world’s largest fleet of stainless steel ISO tank containers, with more than 27,000 units in service. The fleet is supported by a global network of 24 offices and 11 state-of-the-art tank maintenance, repair and cleaning depots in strategic locations worldwide.

Stolt-Nielsen Gas

Stolt-Nielsen Limited entered the market for the transportation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in late 2009. On November 19, 2010, SNG entered into a partnership with Sungas Holdings Ltd to become equal shareholders in Avance Gas Holding Ltd which was previously wholly owned by SNG. Avance Gas now owns four VLGCs, operates a fifth VLGC under a time charter, and time charters a medium-sized gas carrier.

Stolt Bitumen Services

Stolt Bitumen Services (SBS) is a new division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited focused on the high quality, safe and reliable distribution of bitumen using modern bitumen tankers, bitutainers and storage terminals.

Stolt Sea Farm

Stolt Sea Farm is a fish farm producer of turbot, sole, sturgeon and caviar. From 2005 the salmon, trout, halibut, tilapia, cod, sturgeon and caviar operations were merged into Marine Harvest. From 2006 the sturgeon and caviar operation is merged back into the Stolt Sea Farm group.

History

Stolt-Nielsen Limited started in 1959 as Parcel Tankers Inc. with a chartered ship. By 1963 the company had opened offices in Oslo, Norway; New York, USA and Japan and was operating 18 ships. In 1971 the first storage terminal was acquired and in 1972 Sea Farms (then not part of the Stolt-Nielsen Group) was founded. In 1988 the company issued an initial public offering on NASDAQ. In 2005 Stolt-Nielsen Limited sold Stolt Offshore and in 2006 Marine Harvest. In 2007 the company was voluntary delisted from NASDAQ.

Amnesty from US prosecution in exchange for testimony

The US Department of Justice granted amnesty to the company (for any illegal cartel activities before January 15, 2003) as a result of the company's testimony against shipping companies Oddfjell Seachem AS and Jo Tankers b.v.[1]
