Notes

  • Hana's surname is Makihatayama, as when she is inscribed at Misora Elementary School. She is introduced as Rika Makihatayama's (human name of Mayorika) granddaughter. In several webpages however, they use the surname Harukaze for Hana, meaning she is somehow Doremi's daughter in-law. The meaning of the surname is "Flower in the Mountain Makihata" ( a famous mountain peak in japan), although sometimes is refered as the Makihata word for sewing machine.
  • Hana (as a baby) is introduced to Doremi's friend as Rika's younger daughter's baby. However in Dokkan Doremi says Hana (12 years old) is Rika's older daughter's daughter. Doremi explains this fact by telling the class that although both share the same name one is written in Chinese character whereas the other means "hana" (flower) in japanese.
  • As coming from Osaka, Aiko in Japanese version uses and special Osakan accent. (Just like Kero in CardCaptor Sakura series.) She rarely uses the "pigtail" hair-style or a gown, but when she does he looks younger than she is.
  • "Harukaze" means Northern Wind. This meaning is explained in an episode when Pop/Bibi gets her first grade exam.
  • Momoko means "peach". (Durazno in spain)
  • All the girls's hair and eyes colour match perfectly with the colour of their magic dresses.
  • Doremi and her friends have somehow a "Magical boy" (wizards) counterpart, first enemies but a bit afterwards they become friends, and from the part of boys there are a bit of love interest but they are always rejected, except in the dubious case of Doremi and Jeremy (the series never explains who becomes Doremi oficial boyfriend) the "tags" are:

Doremi-------------Akatsuki (in some countries Jeremy) Hazuki-------------Fujio (in some parts Felix) Aiko---------------Leon (not changed) Onpu/Nicole--------Tooru (Tony in some countries)

They form the wizard-group called Flat 4 (Flat is the opposite musical term to Sharp). They are at the orders of the clumsy and sometimes stupid Alexander T. Oyajide (Alejandro Oyajide, Count Phillipe) that commands them to kidnap Hana-Chan. Momoko, Pop and Hana do not have a "boy" counterpart.

  • Momoko's American friend Mary looks like Reika (Leika) Tamaki. In Motto Momoko and her become good friends being the only Ojamajo who really appreciates Reika the way she is.
  • Izumi Todo does not exist, she is only an "imaginary" character made to represent Toei Animation.
  • Although it's believed that Hazuki's parents are wealthy due to the fact that her fatherr is a film director, in a chapter it explained that Hazuki's grandparents were millonaires before Hazuki's mother married Akira Fujiwara.
  • Onpu is the Japanese name of a musical note.
