Lisa Gervasoni is a strategic planner, heritage planner, photographer and artist was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1969.

Education

Gervasoni was educated at Genazzano FCJ College, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Bachelor of Applied Science-Planning) and University of Melbourne (Master of Environmental Studies.)

Planning

Gervasoni has worked in state and local government planning, including a role as the Executive Officer for the Local Government and Planning Advisory Council for the Minister for Planning. Lisa is is currently the Strategic Planning Co-ordinator at Moorabool Shire Council. [1]. Lisa has presented papers at national and state environmental and planning conferences [2] and has authored an article in the Planning Institute of Australia (Victoria) Journal. [3]

In 2001, the brochures project undertaken by Denise Turner and Lisa Gervasoni for Moreland City Council was named the Victorian winner of the Urban Planning Achievement category of the Planning Institute of Australia (Victoria) which received a certificate of merit at the 2002 national awards. [4] Her work on the standard documents project and Melbourne 2030 was nominated for the Honouring Achievement in DOI. [5]

Heritage

Lisa Gervasoni is a full international member of ICOMOS (international Council on Monuments and Sites). She has presented papers on heritage at the International Cities, Town Centres & Communities Society Inc conference [6] and at the Australia ICOMOS conference. [7]

In 1999 she undertook a comparative analysis of pre-olympic pools in Victoria which was the basis for the inclusion of the Hepburn Pool on the Victorian Heritage Register [8], and she later led a campaign which saw the pool being named Victoria's Favourite Built Place in 2004 [9], and the receipt of funding from the Minister for Planning in 2006 to ensure the pools long term survival. [10] [11]. This work was updated in 2011 for the Australia ICOMOS Watermarks Conference.

Whilst at Warrnambool City Council Lisa Gervasoni oversaw the introduction of a major heritage amendment, the creation of the Warrnambool Heritage Strategy and Council's involvement in Australian Heritage Week and the Heritage Festival. [12] In 2012 she curated the Makers and Shapers exhibition in the Warrnambool Art Gallery which celebrated innovation and invention in Warrnambool. [13]

Art & Photography

Lisa Gervasoni has had photographic and embroidered art exhibited in local galleries, the Warrnambool Art Gallery and the Museum of Sydney. [14] and won the Daylesford Small Art Prize with an embroidered piece entitled "Savoia Hotel" [15].

Her photographs have been used in several publications including 'Ballarat Views' by Dorothy Wickham. [16]. Lisa has won photographic categories at the 2010 and 2011 Australia ICOMOS Conferences and one of her images of Broken Hill was used on the cover of the 2009-2010 Australia ICOMOS Annual report. [17] Her images have also been used in the Age and the Sydney Morning Herald. [18]

In 2010 Gervasoni was asked to be involved in ABC Open's inaugural project One on One: Change [19] and her involvement in other projects was featured on ABC Open South West Vic. [20]

Community

Lisa Gervasoni was involved in the community from a young age through her father Jack Gervasoni's work as a councillor at City of Kew. In 1991 she was part of a delegation to Lombardia and returned to Italy in 1999 on a Rotary Group Study Exchange representing the Benalla Rotary Club. She has been a member of the Victorian Mineral Water Committee from 2001 [21]and completed the Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program in 2003. [22]

Gervasoni has been on several committees in Hepburn Shire, including the Swiss Italian Festival, Hepburn Springs Action Group, Daylesford and District Historial Society, Hepburn Football Club, Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve Committee, Hepburn Heritage Advisory Committee and the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens Advisory Committee. In 2009 she was included the the Hepburn Shire Council's Women's Honour Roll recognising her professional and community achievements. [23]
