Rostrum Records is an independent record label, founded in 2003 by Benjy Grinberg in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The label is currently focusing on its newest artist, Mac Miller, along with other artists, Wiz Khalifa, Vali, Donora, TeamMate, Boaz and Chevy Woods. Arthur Pitt is the Vice President of the label. Mac Miller's freshman album Blue Slide Park was the first indie album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts since 1995. Khalifa's second major label album O.N.I.F.C was given a December 4th 2012 release date. Rostrum has sold over 9 million singles and 900,000 albums through their deal with Atlantic Records and Wiz Khalifa. Khalifa scored his first Billboard Hot 100 #1 single with "Black and Yellow" in February 2011. The two releases that drove these sales are Rolling Papers and Mac & Devin Go to High School a collaborative effort with Snoop Dogg. The label was named one of Vibe Magazine's "Top 5 Labels to Watch in 2012" and XXL Magazine's "Top Rising Indie Label in 2011". President Benjy Grinberg was named #23 on The Source Magazine's annual Power 30 list in their September 2011 issue.

Tompkins Square Park Riot
In 1988, recording studio Top Shelf was looted during the Tompkins Square Park Riot, with several recordings by many artists lost. A search soon followed the theft with little success. However, Rostrum Records later acquired many of these recordings and has since began publishing them.
