CoaXPress (CXP) is an asymmetric high speed serial communication standard over coaxial cable. The current version supports bit rates up to 6.25Gbit/s over a single coaxial cable. It includes a high speed downlink, and also a low speed(20.833 Mbit/s) uplink. Power is also available over the coaxial cable. The current version supports 13W(24V) per cable. If you need more power than 13W,you can use an external power supply, this is also support by the CXP standard. For higher Bit rates, 2 or more coaxial cables can be used in parallel.
Standardization
The first draft of the standard was developed by the CoaXPress Consortium, a consortium of 6 companies. The CoaXPress standard v1.0 was released in December 2010[1] by JIIA.
Cabling and connectors
The transmission medium for CoaXPress is coaxial cable with a characteristic impedance of 75 Ω. The maximum transmission distance is depending on the bit rate and the quality of the cable.
The standard connector for CoaXPress is a 75 Ω BNC connector.
Variants
CoaXPress is a scalable standard and can be used for connections from 1.25 Gbps up to 25 Gbps and more.

As of May 2011, some camera's and frame grabbers have been introduced which support and utilize the CoaXPress interface standard. [3]
