The Sasago Tunnel is a Japanese motorway tunnel on the Chūō Expressway. It is located about 80km (50 miles) west of the capital Tokyo.[1][2]
On the morning of December 2, 2012, parts of a wall inside the tunnel collapsed trapping an unknown number of vehicles. Smoke could be seen bellowing from the Kōshū entrance to the tunnel.[3]
