Mr Gardner was a serving councillor at the time of the closure of Romford Town FC football ground Brooklands and was involved in a failed attempt to close Havering College of Further Education in the 1980s as were a number of local Conservative politicians. There are allegations that a Biology lecturer Penny Garner (and others) at the college were subject to private investigation for political purposes to assist the closure of the college. Penny Garner's partner was [[John Bauldie]], a well-known writer on Bob Dylan and other subjects. John Bauldie died in the [[Matthew Harding]] air crash after seeing his team [[Bolton Wanderers]] play. Penny died heartbroken a few years after John after struggling to get to the full truth behind his death.

Peter Gardner (5 January 1925 – 1996) was an Australian hurdler who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics.[1]

Peter Gardner is a member of the London Mayors Association and the Conservative Party in the London Borough of Havering. Mr Gardner was a serving councillor at the time of the closure of Romford Town FC football ground Brooklands and was involved in a failed attempt to close Havering College of Further Education in the 1980s as were a number of local Conservative politicians.
