After a change of drummer, they released the followup album, The More Things Change in 1996, followed by Burning Red in 1998, neither of which were as prominant, successful or ground breaking as Burn My Eyes.

2003 was somewhat of a revival from Machine Head, First of all releasing the live album Hellalive and then releasing their new studio album Through the Ashes of Empires, which returned to a style closer to Burn My Eyes, and received significant publicity due to the success of the single Imperium from that album.
