Gloria Brame (born August 20, 1955) is an American board certified sexologist, writer[1] and sex therapist[2] based in Athens, Georgia.[3] A member of the American College of Sexologists,[4] and clinical sexologist. Brame earned Ph.D. degree in Human Sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in 2000 [5] and an M.A. in English literature from Columbia University in 1978.[6]

Her sex therapy practice specializes in consensual BDSM,[7] sexual fetishism and sexual dysfunction.[8] She is also a lifestyle dominant[9] and named as one of the year's "10 Best Sex and Dating Experts.".[10]

Career

Brame wrote several books including:

  • Different Loving: the World of Sexual Dominance and Submission
  • Come Hither: A Commonsense Guide To Kinky Sex.

The latter book was selected as the "official guide to kinky sex" by the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. Another book titled Sex for Grown-Ups is set to publish on June 2013.

Brame testified against then-US Attorney General in Nitke vs Ashcroft, a major case challenging the Communications Decency Act before the Southern District of New York.[11][12]

Brame's most recent publication is The Truth About Sex, A Sex Primer for the 21st Century Volume I: Sex and the Self.

In 2012 Brame joined the board of directors of the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance[13] and is co-hosting a web radio talk show on Spreaker.[14][15]

She has starred in several indie movies.
