Alashkert FC is an Armenian football club from Martuni, founded in 1990. Although the club is based in the town of Martuni, they play their home games at the Nairi Stadium in Yerevan.
History
In 1992, Alashkert played in the Premier League and finished in last place. After that season, they were relegated to the First League, but later withdrew.
In 1998, Alashkert was revived and applied to participate in the First League and finished 6th. In 1999, they did not participate in First League, and in early 2000 were dissolved.
Revival in 2011
The club was refounded in late 2011 by the native of Martuni Bagrat Navoyan. They entered the 2012-13 Armenian First League competition and won the championship. The club have booked their position in the Armenian Premier League for the 2013-14 season. The current manager of the club is the former player Sergey Erzrumyan succeeding Albert Sarkisyan who was sacked in April 2013. The assistant manager is Aram Hakobyan.[1]
The club play their home games at the Nairi Stadium of Yerevan. The stadium is owned by Alashkert FC since February 2013.
