March 8–11. This was one of the plays in the 'A' level GCE examination syllabus. Othello was taken by Geoffrey Duke. Andrew Winton was Iago. The Desdemona was played by sixteen-year-old Christine Hayes. Emilia, Cassio and Roderigo completed the cast. It was a financial loss, but B.H. Holland believed it to be an artistic gain.

Stretford Children's Theatre is a former youth theatre based in Stretford, England. It was founded in the 1940s by Bertram H. Holland, and ceased to exist in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Holland wrote a book about the theatre in 1968 called Beginners on Stage.[1]

An offshoot adult theatre company of made up of former members of the children's theatre existed in the 1970s.
