After completing graduation from Hindu College, Delhi , Meenakshi joined Campus Law Centre-I, Delhi University for LL.B. degree. She was enrolled in 1990 with Bar Council of Delhi and started practicing at the Supreme Court of India , Delhi High Court ,other Courts, Tribunals and Forums on regular basis in Delhi and other parts of the country.

She has argued wide variety of matters such as Bails, Revisions, Trials, Appeals, Criminal Writs, Murder References, Prevention of Corruption Act/Official Secrets Act/Customs Act/FERA prosecutions, Domestic Violence & Family Law disputes.

As a social activist Meenakshi have been closely associated with NCW, NIPCID, SAKSHI,WTI, AIWC, Sampurna & CSR on the issues relating to women’s and children’s right. She has conducted various lectures at NHRC and gender training programme with various Ministries.

She worked for the issue of permanent commission of the lady officers in the forces and has successfully represented their cause in the supreme court of india .

Meenakshi has been part of the Drafting Committees for bills like “Women Reservation Bill” & “ Problem of Sexual Harassment at Workplace”.She has been in NCW’s special committee, Chairperson of Special Task Force on Women Empowerment, Vice Chairperson of JPM, Blind School, New Delhi & Jt. Secretary, Blind Relief Association.

She's widely known as a practical "policy wonk" who enjoys engagement in the fine details of proposals and plans, rather than as a big-picture visionary. Meenakshi is a prolific writer. Besides numerous articles in journals, periodicals and newspapers, She participates in various Television Shows on matters on National and International Importance.

Vice president of BJP Mahila Morcha and also on the spokespersons' panel of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Meenakshi has been successfully articulating , advocating and campaigning BJPs Policies, Programmes and Campaigns.

Meenakshi Lekhi is an Indian politician and lawyer.[1] She is national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party.[2] She is the daughter in law of Pran Nath Lekhi, an eminent Supreme Court Lawyer.
