Myristica swamps are wooded fresh water swamps predominantly composed of species of Myristica. These are found in two localities in India. one can say that these are fresh water equivalents of mangroves. Myristica swamps have adaptations to survive inundation by way of stilt roots and knee roots.

Myristica swamps are found in the Uttar Kannada district of Karnataka State and in the southern parts of Kerala State. The swamps in Karnataka has been studied in detail by Chandran, MDS and his colleagues.
