Theresa Nangle Obermeyer (born July 25, 1945), is a former Anchorage, Alaska school board member, having served 2 two-year terms from 1990 to 1994. Obermeyer made an unsuccessful run against Republican Ted Stevens for the United States Senate in 1996. [1]

Obermeyer is known in Alaska for her public advocacy on behalf of her husband, Tom Obermeyer, who has failed the Alaska Bar thirty-four times.[2] In 1996 Obermeyer served a thirty-day jail term for disorderly conduct in a federal judge's chambers during a discussion regarding her husband's bar examinations.[2]

Life and career

Obermeyer was born Theresa Nangle in 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri.[3] After studying at Villa Duchesne High School from 1959 until 1963,[3] she received a BA in Political Science from the Maryville University in St. Louis in 1967, and a Master of Education in 1970 from the same university. In 1975 she earned her Ph.D in Education as well.[4]

On December 23, 1977 she married Thomas Obermeyer, an attorney in Missouri; they have four children.[4]

She worked in different jobs in education at different colleges in Missouri and Maryland before working as Assistant Director for student activities at St. Louis Community College–Florissant Valley from 1973 until 1978. She then moved to Alaska where she became the Director of Student Services at the Anchorage Community College of University of Alaska Anchorage. Between 1981 and 1993, she was an instructor at Chapman University, and between 1984 and 1990 a teacher at the McLaughlin Youth Center.[4]

From 1990 until 1994 she sat on the board of the Anchorage School District, and in 1993 she was the treasurer of the board.[4][5]

Since 1979, she also worked as a real estate broker.[4][5] ______________________________________________ 148 Words Please include my picture which I sent to info-en-o@wikimedia.org along with copies of my two current Alaska licenses.

My 148 word revision to my biography is above.

Please delete all the five references as they are defamatory. FYI, I have never used the term "conspiracy." That term was fabricated by the corrupt press in Alaska which is about 90% owned in many states of the Lower 48.

Please also do not use the name of Ted Stevens in my biography. Please only state that I was "my Party's Nominee to U.S. Senate 1996."

As stated above, please publish my biography verbatim with my picture. Please let me know that you have removed all the five newspaper references and that you will only use the verbage, "Party's Nominee to U.S. Senate 1996," regarding my right as an American to run for public office and be nominated by my Party for high office.

PLEASE DO NOT REFER TO THERESA NANGLE OBERMEYER, PH.D. AS AN "ALASKA POLITICIAN." I AM NOT A POLITICIAN. I HELD NON-PARTISAN PUBLIC OFFICE ON ANCHORAGE SCHOOL BOARD 1990-1994 AND HAVE RUN FOR PARTISAN OFFICE IN ALASKA BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME A POLITICIAN. I HAVE NOT RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE OF ANY KIND SINCE 2004, ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO.

If Wikipedia cannot print exactly what I request, then I want my listing deleted completely.

Thank you.
