Hanmanth Rao was elected from the [[Medak]] Assembly constituency in 2009 General Elections (earlier from Ramayampet in Bypolls).
Hanmanth Rao served the needy in both Ramayampet and Medak by supplying drinking water etc,then with the support of the local people he entered into politics and gradually started growing as a leader and earned the respect of the people in his constituency by involving in various welfare activities.
