Mi prima Ciela (My Cousin Ciela) was a Venezuelan telenovela, produced and broadcast by RCTV in 2007. It starred Monica Spear and Manuel Sosa, and co-starring Flavia Gleske, Geronimo Gil, Raquel Yanez and Guillermo Perez. This telenovela is the remake of two Venezuelan telenovelas, Elizabeth and Maite, both produced by the same channel in the 1980s.
Plot
Graciela Andreina is a 18 year old student who is in her final year of high school and lives with her two cousins Maite and Silvia, a trio together that are inseparable. All family live in a building with Graciela's parents, grandmother, and mother of Maite and Silvia. All three have to go through hard times in life:
- Silvia becomes pregnant at a young age of Rafael, a young man working in the business who run Graciela's parents. At first no one accepts him for being an ex-convict, but they will have to marry young Cunado secret.
- Maite, meanwhile, will have to fight with her mother, her daughter who dreams to become a doctor, but she meets his dream to pursue music. When you enter the music school, Abel meets the love of his life, but this love is full of abuse and suffering.
- Graciela be the worst thing that has since discovered that she is adopted and her world will fall apart, but the worst news is that of their disease, aplastic anemia, that anger running slowly, amid all becomes pregnant with David, putting endangered his life and that of her child.
Final
Throughout the novel, the uncertainty Graciela disease will become more important, to the point of becoming the main theme. Although remedies that apply and hopes that occur at times, the disease fails to win the battle. So in a last chapter shocking and disturbing, Graciela dies, leaving his entire family destroyed, but even more to his Vido, who must cope as a parent of a beautiful daughter a Cielita fruit of his second delivery and your Vidito firstborn.
