Action to Protect the Environment
MEGAMAN is passionately dedicated to providing solutions that address worldwide concerns for the environment. Through a “Design for Environment” programme, MEGAMAN injects eco-elements into every stage of the product life cycle, including research and development, design, manufacturing, office systems, packaging, disposal and recycling.

MEGAMAN complies with EU RoHS directives and incorporates eco-friendly designs. The use of amalgam in all MEGAMAN CFL products reduces the impact of mercury on the environment. Amalgam is an alloy of mercury in a stable, solid form that does not spill when lamps break. It can be readily collected, recycled and reused and therefore does not lead to land or water contamination. Use of amalgam prevents the release of toxic mercury vapour during the manufacturing process, and enables the manufacture of even smaller CFLs. Smaller lamp sizes reduce material use, and eco-friendly, recyclable materials are used wherever possible. MEGAMAN also has its own recycling factory to ensure the safe collection and recycling of material.

Established in 2008, the MEGAMAN Charity Trust Fund has pledged to support the development of local and overseas communities. It places great emphasis on education and environmental protection, both are vital to the social needs of the worldwide community. Through the Fund, donations are made, sponsorships funded and partnerships established with charities, colleges and non-governmental organizations worldwide.
