The Nigerian government is a democratic system that has the president has the highest government power in the nation. In the states, you have governors who are heads of the state and call the shots in that certain state. The hierarchy of government officials goes as follows, president, vice-president, senators [who represent different states in the country], governors, and deputy governor. The senators meet in the house of senate to have their meetings and deliberate matters about the country. The way the Nigerian government is set up, the presidents, senators, and governors are all picked by the people of the nation through elections. |

The presidents and governors have 4 years in their first term and then after that they have to re-campaign again and if they win they continue to be in power for the next four years. The Nigerian government gained their independence on October 1st 1960 from the British and that's when the Nigerian government started. The Nigerian government and the country's laws is based on the nation's constitution which came into existence in 1979. In the Nigerian government system, they have the executive, legislative, and judiciary body which helps to provides checks and balances to the other 2 bodies. There are 3 types of government in Nigeria which are the Federal, State, and Local government and the 2 lowest answer to the federal government. The current president of Nigeria is GoodLuck Jonathan and the vice president is Namadi Sambo. |

The Nigerian government is strongly influenced by both the British and American system of government. The judiciary system of Nigeria strongly follows the same system as the British while the executive system strongly follows the American system. Its highest level of justice is the Supreme Court of Nigeria. The government system of Nigeria allows for different political parties to campaign for all the different positions of power in a fair election. In the Nigerian government system, they also have the National assembly as well as the House of Representatives. The National Assembly has two sections which are the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate is headed by the president of Senate which currently David Mark and the House of Representatives is headed by the speaker of the House of representative who is currently Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. |

What is a stub?
