This time for a month. You do not seem to understand that adding over-precise, spurious, or just invented dates for composers to force them in some sort of chronological birth order ''degrades the quality of the encyclopedia'', and you are yet to communicate with us or even acknowledge that you have read our policies. I realize you are refusing to talk to us, but you've persistently been adding subtle misinformation in the form of unverifiable and unjustifiable precision in dates, such as [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Renaissance_composers&diff=prev&oldid=606474029 here]. Why did you do this? What is your source? You're Cmach7, aren't you? Do you realize how much extra work you are making for us, in that someone is going to have to clean all of this up -- or revert absolutely every one of your edits? Hi - Just seen your edits to List of Renaissance composers. Good to see some work being done here, but do you have reliable sources for the dates? If there is some room for doubt use circa (see WP:DATE#Dates of birth and death). —(RT) talk 16:56, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of Romantic-era composers may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • include nine [[Symphony|symphonies]], ''Fantasia on Greensleeves'', and other orchestral poems[[Julius Fučík (composer)

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 13:51, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Baroque period is generally taken to start about 1600, but that does not mean any composers living past 1600 composed in a Baroque style. Adopting basso continuo on the Italian model would be one indicator. In some places change came much later (eg Portugal) or evolved from Renaissance models only gradually adopting Baroque elements (eg England). Many of the composers you are adding cannot be regarded as Baroque either in style or by period when they were active. Please do not add unless there is good evidence. —(RT) talk 13:54, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for your dates

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia.

Where are you getting your dates for Renaissance composers? You are making dozens of changes to the List of Renaissance composers, including things like this: Edward Collard, 1552-1600. What source are you using to determine the 1552 birthdate? For John Marchant, you give a 1551 birthdate. The 1611 death date is tentative, based on a letter of 8 December 1611 mentioning him as "lately deceased". Almost nothing is known of his life. Please give your sources; everything in Wikipedia needs to be verifiable. Thank you, Antandrus (talk) 17:01, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources are required

Where are you getting your dates for Renaissance composers? You need to give your sources. This is not optional. Most of these are obscure composers of which little is known, and actual dates for many of them would be significant musicological discoveries. It appears you are making these dates up. Where are you getting them from? Thank you, Antandrus (talk) 03:01, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And again

Where did you get this 1699 date for Richard Jones? Please answer us. Antandrus (talk) 18:55, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

With this edit summary you showed that your edits are malicious and intended to deceive. Everything on Wikipedia needs to be verifiable. This is not optional. You've been adding unverifiable dates, and arbitrarily moving Renaissance composers over to the Baroque list, and have refused to discuss with us. You are welcome to edit here if you abide by our policies. Please see these for a brief introduction. Thank you, Antandrus (talk) 22:01, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Look, if you don't want me to block you again, you need to tell us where you are getting your dates. Once in a while one verifies -- but most of the time they appear to have been invented. Respond to this message, please. Antandrus (talk) 03:42, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
