Gunilla Gerland, born 1963 in Stockholm, is an author, lecturer and debater on the topic of Asperger syndrome.[1]

Gerland debuted in 1996 with the autobiographical book A Real Person: Life on the Outside which is about growing up with Asperger syndrome in an unsympathetic environment.[2][3] The book has been widely adopted and has been translated into nine languages.[citation needed][4][5][6][7]
