After Eton, Stourton, the second son of former BBC journalist Edward Stourton, studied art history at the University of Bristol while Palmer read history at Oxford University. They reunited after university and went into comedy full-time.

Career

Totally Tom first started performing together in 2010, conducting a UK university tour and launching online their short film High Renaissance Man,[3] which became an online hit.

2011 saw the duo perform at Underbelly Limited at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, for which they were nominated for the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Newcomer Award.[4] In the same year the also made their television debut on Channel 4's Comedy Lab.[5]

The duo returned to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012[6][7] and also, appeared on BBC Three's Comedy Marathon.[8]

The duo also appear in the BBC Three stand-up/sketch series Live at the Electric as backstage crew for the show with Palmer serving as the serious one and Stourton serving as comic relief and the one who pulls the switch to start the show.

Stourton stars alongside Charlotte Ritchie in the BBC Three sitcom Siblings which was first broadcast in summer 2014.
