No, I think the Democratic party needs to be re-added. They are clearly a left wing party. They have moved very clearly to the left in recent years with prominent left wing politicians like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. In fact, they are pretty much to the left of any European or latin American socialist party.Bjoh249 (talk) 23:35, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

The United States Democratic Party is nowhere near as leftist as *any* socialist party in Europe or Latin America.
Lay off the Fox News, you wouldn't know socialism if it hit you in the face.

Anyway, on a global scale, both US parties would be considered center-right, Republicans slightly more right.
On an American scale, the democratic party is leftist, republicans are right-wing.
Wikipedia is written on a global scale.
The Democratic Party should be left off this page. 2601:C:2600:DACA:9095:F25:1AA1:6890 (talk) 02:52, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Can we really call the democrats of America left wing? I'd hate to put them and the Swedish Social Democrats in the same category. The American democratic party is centre at best. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.134.113 (talk) 03:35, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Democrat Party is a broad party that encompasses left wing to center right with progressive caucus being the center left, the New Democrats being the center, and the Blue Dogs being the center right. So I think it should be mentioned for the sake of center left progressives and leftists such as Bernie Sanders but I agree that the broadness of the party should be stated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.240.221.17 (talk) 08:57, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I also think american democrats are not left-wing party, they are liberal right-wing party. Occasionally they do take a left-wing viewpoint, but very rarely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.103.74.8 (talk) 16:57, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, there is no way that the center-right Democratic Party deserves to be on a list of "Left-wing political parties." It needs to be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.141.189.47 (talk) 12:47, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
