Title
WikiProject Minnesota State Highways
Scope
The scope of this project is to:
- Bring all of the Minnesota State Highway articles under the same format.
- Create an article for all Minnesota State Highways.
Relationships
Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/List of state roads WikiProjects
Participants
- Station Attendant
- Rschen7754 will help with tasks but has never been to MN.
- SpaceJunkie is familiar with most of the state highways in central Minnesota.
*Elkman - mostly familiar with Twin Cities roads. Also, I'm kind of a map geek, so I've been collecting old maps (dating back to 1930), so that might help with the history. I'm off of this. Let SPUI figure this out.
- zappa - I live in the Twin Cities, can help if needed.
Structure
Infobox To be placed on all articles.
Naming
All articles should be named "Minnesota State Highway XX".
Tasks
- Work on individual highway articles.
- Place routebox on all articles.
- Place project template on article talk pages.
General strategy and discussion forums
Templates
Infoboxes
{{MNroutebox}} (A modified MORoutebox.) Template:MNroutebox
Stub templates
- Stub template to be put here once needed.

City link template
I got tired of entering the city name twice within square brackets, so I created a template that would give a full link to the Minnesota city but remove "Minnesota" from the title:
- {{mnclink}}
Template:Mnclink gives a link to Bloomington, Minnesota but doesn't list Minnesota at the end.
Link template for Steve Riner's page
I also got tired of typing out the full citation information for Steve Riner's Unofficial Minnesota Highways Page every time I did a highway, so I created a template as follows:
- {{riner}}
Usage: {{riner|range|specifichighway|accessdate}}
Example: {{riner|288-694|610|2024-08-12}} gives a reference to Highway 610 on the 288-694 page and dates it today.
User templates
It is strongly recommended that {{Project U.S. Roads West}} should go on all members' user pages.

Shield images
A blank Minnesota State Highway shield can be found at Image:Mnhwyshield.png.
The Roadgeek Fonts site has a font that works well for Minnesota signs. It looks like "Series D", at about 60 pixels, should do the job.
I figured out how to automate Paint Shop Pro so I could automatically generate all of the sign images. I haven't uploaded all of them to Wikipedia yet, though, so if you need any signs in the meantime, they're on my Web server at www2.elkman.net/signs.
Pages needing attention
Wikipedia:Pages needing attention listings are no longer being updated. For by-topic listings of articles that need attention, see:
To flag an article for attention, add a cleanup template to the article or talk page. See Wikipedia:Template index/Cleanup for a listing. All previously listed articles have either been fixed or tagged.
