Tim Johnson (born May 15, 1962) is an American football coach and former player. He served as the first head football coach at Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, a position he held for five seasons, from 2000 until 2004. He was an NAIA All-American linebacker and NAIA Academic All-American at William Jewell College. He was inducted into the William Jewell Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.

Johnson's coaching record at Avila was 17-30.[1] In 2004, he took Avila to the Wheat Bowl in its first bowl game, losing to Midland Lutheran College by a score of 31–9.
