Verdiem is a software corporation based in Seattle, Washington.[1] The company is privately owned and backed by venture capital.[2][3] Verdiem produces the Surveyor 6 enterprise-class PC power management software.[4][5][6] Verdiem Surveyor enables customers to centrally control and reduce the energy used by PCs, Macs, and network devices running Cisco EnergyWise without impacting end users. Nearly 700 corporations, government agencies and universities have deployed Surveyor on over 2 million devices. Verdiem was acquired by Aptean in January 2015. Aptean sells software for the financial, manufacturing and other vertical markets integrating Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Customer Experience Management (CEM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Knowledge Management (KM).

Surveyor

Surveyor is Verdiem’s enterprise class PC Power Management software. The product allows the central administration of power management settings for networked PCs. Intelligent policies maximize energy savings by placing machines into a lower power states without interfering with end-user productivity, desktop maintenance or upgrades.[7] More recent releases include a Sustainability Dashboard.[8] This feature provides an enterprise wide overview of the products usage and claimed energy savings.

Verdiem Surveyor enables customers to centrally control and reduce the energy used by PCs, Macs, and network devices running Cisco EnergyWise without impacting end users. Surveyor combined with Cisco EnergyWise delivers a solution that leverages the power of the existing Cisco Catalyst switching network and Verdiem’s leading IT energy management solution to lower energy consumption by up to 60% for enterprise IT devices. Verdiem helps customers achieve their energy savings goals by accurately measuring IT energy consumption, enforcing power savings policies, and analyzing results to optimize savings.

Verdiem announced the Surveyor 6 Spring Edition on March 6, 2012, which allows companies to "more accurately track and manage energy consumption and costs across international boundaries, rates, and currencies"[9]

Case studies

Verdiem has had a number of clients with varying amounts of success in energy reduction, including:

Cadbury, with a 30% reduction of energy costs[10]

The City of Boston, with a 44% reduction in PC power consumption,[11] saving between $24,000 and $72,000 per year.[12]

National Institutes of Health, saving an average of 953,678 kWh of electricity or about $71,000 annually.[13]
