Sharon Collins Newman is a fictional character in the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, played by actress Sharon Case since 1994.
Character
Sharon is currently the spokesmodel for Jabot Cosmetics. Since 1996, Sharon has been married to Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow), with whom she has a son, Noah (Hunter Allan). Her daughter (Nick's stepdaughter) Cassie (Camryn Grimes) was killed in a car accident in 2005.
Since Cassie's death, Sharon and Nick's marriage has been under tremendous strain as Sharon sought comfort with Brad Carlton (Don Diamont), and Nick had an adulterous affair with Phyllis Summers Abbott (Michelle Stafford), who is now pregnant with his baby.
Sharon and Nick come from different backgrounds. Nick Newman, the son of billionaire Victor Newman, is from a very privileged background. Sharon grew up with modest means. While she was in high school in Madison WI, her mother was paralyzed in a car accident.
