Come on it's a bit odd, what's the etymology behind the name 'Briton Ferry'

Neither 'Briton' nor 'Ferry' are odd in themselves but nevertheless as a placename "Briton Ferry" kind of screams-out for a bit of etymological background. Likely some Welsh/Briton thingy but still some confirmation would be cool.
