Jagtar Singh Hawara (Punjabi: ਜਗਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਵਾਰਾ) is the current Jathedar of Sri Akaal Takht Sahib, the highest Sikh religious seat.[1] He a member of Babbar Khalsa. He is convicted in the assassination of then Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, who was killed by a human bomb in Chandigarh, on August 31, 1995, who was responsible for not taking any action against the mass killings of Sikh Youths. During his tenure, Punjab Police were very powerful and had control of a semi-police state. They killed many Sikhs just because they were Sikhs.
