Solutionary Inc. is a managed security service provider (MSSP) based in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Their services help clients to prevent and mitigate data breaches, hacking and other types of cyberthreats. Services are delivered using the patented, cloud-based ActiveGuard® service platform. Solutionary operates security operations centers (SOCs) in Omaha and in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Solutionary has been positioned as a Visionary[1], Challenger (as part of NTT)[2] and Leader[3] by the analyst firm Gartner. Solutionary was also named a Leader[4] in the 2014 Forrester Wave.

Solutionary researchers publish monthly and quarterly threat reports, and an annual Global Threat Intelligence Report.[5][6]


History

Solutionary was founded in 2000 as a privately-held company by Steve Idelman, Chairman of the Board and CEO, Mike Hrabik, President and Chief Technology Officer, Sheri Idelman, Chief Operating Officer, Chris Rehberg, executive Vice President of Operations, and Sheila Diamond, Vice President of Administration.

In September 2001, Solutionary acquired S3 Networks, LLC of Chicago, a provider of security assessment services.[7]

In April 2006, Solutionary acquired Espiria, a Minneapolis-based security firm, and their product SecurCompass.[8]

In March 2007, Solutionary acquired Vigilant Minds, a Pittsburgh based MSSP company.[9] Through this acquisition, Solutionary expanded its services, opened a new SOC in Pittsburgh, and doubled its sales force.

In August 2013, Solutionary was acquired as a wholly-owned subsidiary by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT)[10].
