Should we mention Homestar's reference to Wikipedia from the toon, "No Hands On Deck!"?--[[User:Martin925|Martin925]] 03:13, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Michael?

What's the name Michael from? metaeducation

Its from the new Halloween toon that was posted a few days ago. Marzipan says it near the beginning. --LiberalPA

I think it's also one of the developers middle names. But I'm not sure... --Gamesfreak22

It's the first name of the animator, Mike Chapman. 74.119.26.14 23:47, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Homestar Runner Wiki

This article on homestar runner was essentially a very bizarre subset of what is featured on the Homestar Wiki about the character. I've described a strategy for managing the edits in the discussion of a new template, so if you want to discuss the idea, start by looking there. metaeducation

Homestar's Accent

Can someone describe the character's accent? Is that some dialect exaggerated? Or is that just stupid gibberish? --Menchi 15:40, 15 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

It's pretty much gibberish. Homestar Runner has a slight lisp, however, there are other factors to his speech impediment that are hard to describe. All I can say for certainty is that he is really fun to imitate.

Basically, he has trouble pronouncing the letter "R" (though in some words, such as "Marzipan", he manages to pronounce it). For example, he pronounces "Homestar Runner" as something like "Homestaw Wunnow". It seems to be something of a childlike lisp. He also seems to have trouble pronouncing other words (for example, "appetizers" comes out as "appe-teasers"), though that could be because he's not very bright and he just pronounces unfamiliar words phonetically.
In his 'older' voice, he had hard times saying "z" and "r". But with the new voices it's easier to understand him. Some words he says without his speech impediment, such as "internet", but it's hard to find those words.

Uhhh...

Why does the Ted Baxter link take you to Mary Tyler Moore page?? Hoekenheef 12:20, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Because Ted Baxter doesn't have an article, and because he's a character on the show? -- The KoG | (talk) 15:34, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
Makes sense, I guess. Hoekenheef 03:16, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Jooky?

Where did Jooky come from?--Princess Homestar

Yes. He was addressed as "Homestar Micheal Runner" but never had I heard "Jooky" as part of his name. --TotalSpaceshipGuy3 16:31, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
