Use of image

Dear John,

We would like to use an image of yours for a children's book about the brain. I am editor at Moon in the Netherlands (www.uitgeverijmoon.nl). At the moment we are making a book about the human brains for children from 8 till 12. In the last chapter a comparison is made between the human brain and computers. In this chapter we would like to use the image below. Are you okay with that? I can send you an example of how it looks like in the book if you send me your email address. I hope you can reply asap, as we are a bit in hurry. The book has to go to the printer soon.

I hope to hearing from you.

Best wishes, Hannerlie Modderman hannerlie.modderman@uitgeverijmoon.nl

Hello Hannerlie. Sorry for the delay in replying, I'm not around on here that often at the moment. Please go ahead with your planned usage of my CSIRAC image. I will contact you about it later via email. --jjron (talk) 07:16, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request to use photo of Walt Disney Concert Hall

Hello Mr. O'Neill,

I am a photo researcher working on a college textbook for Oxford University Press. We are interested in licensing your photo of the Walt Disney Concert Hall for interior use in the book. I look forward to hearing from you so I may provide more details. Thank you very much for your consideration.

Sincerely, Debbie Needleman — Preceding Dneedleman 01:27, 4 July 2014 (UTC) comment added by Dneedleman (talkcontribs) 22:47, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear John,

I emailed you yesterday but am just covering all my bases by posting here too. I'm interested in licensing your image of the CSIRAC computer in a printed publication. If you're interested I'd really appreciate it if you could email me at chris@smithjournal.com.au to discuss?

Many thanks,

Chris

  • Hi Chris, I can't speak for John as I don't know where he is at the moment, but I wanted to just point out to you that there is are stitching problems in the image of the CSIRAC computer (it was taken with multiple images and 'stitched together' to create a single wide image). The images did not align properly in this image, you can see it between the second and third cabinet, and at the top also. I just wanted to ensure you were aware of this because it would be unfortunate if you were to publish the image without this knowledge. Ðiliff «» (Talk) 14:33, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Use of an image

Hello John.

I want to tell Japanese children how big a camel is. So, I want to print your photo of a camel in real scale. Could you send me a higher quality version of File:07. Camel Profile, near Silverton, NSW, 07.07.2007.jpg?

Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dashiyoshida (talkcontribs) 06:51, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dashiyoshida. Have you managed to download the fullsize version of the image from Wikipedia rather than just the image page version (might be a bit trickier to access if you've been hobbled with the new image viewer 'feature')? If you still need a bigger version I might be able to dig out the original, however you might need to give me a way to send it to you...
Regards, --jjron (talk) 12:27, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello John. Thank you for you reply. I've already tried to download the fullsize version, but it was not enough to enlarge the image. Could you send the image to 'email'? Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dashiyoshida (talkcontribs) 13:18, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Meh. Looks like someone's uploaded an updated version of the logo. Probably don't need a record in the article of the original logo. Having said which the user that did it looks slightly questionable. --jjron (talk) 14:59, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
