Ingrid Rounsaville Lyne (August 2, 1975 – April 8, 2016) was an American nurse from Renton, Washington whose dismembered body was discovered on April 10, 2016.[1] Lyne was a nurse at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.[2]

Disappearance and death

Lyne was last seen by friends on April 8, 2016 and was reported missing on April 9. Later that day, responding to a call from a homeowner[3], police found several of her dismembered body parts, including a severed head, foot, arm and leg[4] in a Seattle recycling bin,[5] approximately ten miles from her home.[6] On April 15, 2016, additional severed body parts were found in a different location by a rubbish collector but there is not yet identification of the victim of these body parts.[4]

Lyne's mother searched the house when her daughter did not pick up her children. She texted questions to John Robert Charlton, who had been dating Lyne for about a month.[1] She then called the police who found blood, human tissue, and a pruning-saw in the bathroom, as well as trash bags which were similar to those containing Lyne's severed body parts.[7] The coroner's office stated Lyne died of "homicidal violence."[8]

Investigation and arrest

Charlton was arrested on April 11. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the King County Jail on $2M bail.[9]

Lyne was a 1993 graduate of Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson, AZ, USA. She was a recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997 from the the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997. She moved to Washington state in 2000 and lived in her present house for about 13 years. In 2014, she divorced Phillip Lyne.[10]
