Al Smyth (born 19 January 1963) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and composer. He is best known as a guitarist and for his eclectic stage shows and wide range of musical influences. Smyth gained early recognition as a slide blues guitarist, opening for legendary artists including Watermelon Slim. Honeyboy Edwards and Buckwheat Zydeco. His original compositions range from rock n' roll, blues and funk to soundscapes and longer jazz-influenced suites. Heavy influences include Frank Zappa, Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Keith Richards, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Robert Johnson and 1970s TV. Smyth performs with the band Al Smyth's Free Beer n Chicken Coalition (FBnCC) and has released three recordings.
