I had made an error and thought that the cost of the procedure described in the Buzzfeed article was general, for any of the reconstruction procedures discussed in our article, using any of the materials we discuss there. [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Empty_nose_syndrome&type=revision&diff=725041162&oldid=724984338 This edit] by Ensadvocate made me realize that the cost was specific for the procedure with Alloderm. The information then became a point, rather than a generalization, and not encyclopedic, so I removed it, per [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Empty_nose_syndrome&diff=next&oldid=725047113 my edit note]. It would be useful to have the ballpark cost for the reconstruction procedure. [[User:Jytdog|Jytdog]] ([[User talk:Jytdog|talk]]) 07:29, 13 June 2016 (UTC) |

:{{reply to|Jytdog}} There are multiple reconstruction procedures available for ENS the two that I am aware of are available that cost can be verified are alloderm implants which cost approx $9,000 to $14,000 procedure as per buzzfeed. And there are PRP/Matristem injections to turbinates $1985 for initial bilateral inferior turbinate injections $1635 for repeat bilateral turbinate injections done by dr das see link http://www.usasinus.org/empty-nose-syndrome. I agree that this information would be helpful for the article at the very least to signify that health insurance does not cover the costs any ideas? There have been attempts to recruit editors of specific viewpoints to this article, in a manner that does not comply with Wikipedia's policies. Editors are encouraged to use neutral mechanisms for requesting outside input (e.g. a "request for comment", a third opinion or other noticeboard post, or neutral criteria: "pinging all editors who have edited this page in the last 48 hours"). If someone has asked you to provide your opinion here, examine the arguments, not the editors who have made them. Reminder: disputes are resolved by consensus, not by majority vote. |
Ideal sources for Wikipedia's health content are defined in the guideline Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine) and are typically review articles. Here are links to possibly useful sources of information about Empty nose syndrome.

Welcome, ENS forum members
I noticed a posting at http://guest.fr.yuku.com/topic/6013/Someone-is-hijacking-the-ENS-wikipedia-page-advice directing people to this page. All new and established editors are welcome but please familiarise yourself with the wikipedia policies on the correct style for medical articles; the appropriate type of references for medical articles; the fact that Wikipedia is not the place to publish original research; and the rules on neutrality. In particular, please note:
- "Controversies or uncertainties in medicine should be supported by reliable secondary sources describing the varying viewpoints" (from WP:NEUTRAL).
- "all biomedical information must be based on reliable, third-party published secondary sources, and must accurately reflect current knowledge" (from WP:MEDRS)
- "you must be able to cite reliable, published sources that are directly related to the topic of the article, and directly support the material being presented" (from WP:ORIGINAL).
The page is currently locked for editing because of edits that were not sufficiently neutral and were not supported by suitable sources. If such edits continue, it is likely to remain that way. Dubbinu | t | c 12:39, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- I've added a recruiting tag to the very top of this page - folks coming from that forum should read it and click the links there. Jytdog (talk) 15:14, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
Cost
I had made an error and thought that the cost of the procedure described in the Buzzfeed article was general, for any of the reconstruction procedures discussed in our article, using any of the materials we discuss there. This edit by Ensadvocate made me realize that the cost was specific for the procedure with Alloderm. The information then became a point, rather than a generalization, and not encyclopedic, so I removed it, per my edit note. It would be useful to have the ballpark cost for the reconstruction procedure. Jytdog (talk) 07:29, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
