Alfred J. Francis (July→September 1885 – January→March 1968 (aged 82)) born in Treherbert,[1] was a Welsh professional rugby league footballer of the 1910s, playing at representative level for Great Britain (non-Test matches), and Wales, and at club level for Hull, as a Wing, i.e. number 2 or 5,[2] his death was registered in Holderness.[3]
Playing career
International honours
Alfred Francis won 2 caps for Wales in 1913–1914 while at Hull,[4] and toured with Great Britain on the 1914 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Challenge Cup final appearances
Alfred Francis played left-Wing, i.e. number 5, and scored a try in Hull's 6-0 victory over Wakefield Trinity in the 1914 Challenge Cup final during the 1913–14 season at Thrum Hall, Halifax.

Alfred Francis' marriage to Emma Mabel Baxter (birth registered during October→December 1893 in Sculcoates district) was registered during October→December 1915 in Hull district.[5] They had children; Wellesley T. Francis (birth registered during October→December 1893 in Hull district), and Megan Francis (birth registered during January→March 1922 in Hull district).
