== Street Layout of Seattle ==

Hi Steve,

I see you have edited "Street Layout of Seattle." I noticed that the "map of directional zones" and the text are contradictory. The map shows the East section (below canal and above Denny) following Eastlake Ave. E. on its Western border all the way from Denny to the canal. However the text states: "... between Queen Anne Avenue N and a border defined by Eastlake Avenue E (south of E Nelson Place) and Lake Union (north of E Nelson Place),[7] the Avenue N section, in which avenues are suffixed N and in which streets have no prefix; east of the Eastlake Avenue E–Lake Union border, the E section." Based on the street naming I see in Google maps, it appears to me the text is correct and the map is wrong. Is this something that can be corrected?" How would that be done?

3 or Three

Hi Steve - I saw your comments on the talkpage of Three, and I've asked for any help from the film project. Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 11:16, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mithril

Please note that Tolkien Gateway is a wiki that anyone can edit, therefore it is not a reliable source for conjecture like you added to Mithril. GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 21:06, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake. What about the other reference, which applied to the second sentence? —Steve98052 (talk) 21:10, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would say that fails the test too, just a blog from what looks like an amateur author? If he's notable then it could be included but it doesn't look like he is? GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 21:14, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
He's clearly a professional author. He has 19 hard-copy books listed on Amazon, a writing credit on IMDB, and a documented in-development film project. However, he doesn't present himself as Tolkien or literary scholar or a metallurgist on his blog "about" page, so professional writer or not, I suppose he's not a reliable source on that topic. Comparisons to real-world metals are a reasonable topic to address on an article about a fictional metal, but to count as a reliable source such observations should probably come from a stronger source, whether it's reliable by virtue of publication in a book, journalistic source, or blog by someone with literary or metallurgy credentials. —Steve98052 (talk) 21:34, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

Hello, Steve98052. You have new messages at Beyond My Ken's talk page.

Not very glamourous, I know, but BMK is a very experienced editor. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:33, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I looked at his statistics as part of thinking about how to react to the spelling change, and saw that he has about 135 times as many edits as I do. I respect the contributions of more-experienced editors, and question their edits only after double-checking my own work.

Chinet.

Seeing your edit. The chinet site fails IRS and should not be cited for sourcing. As you've added it as an external link I've left it but thought I'd just point out the issue. All the best Garlicplanting (talk) 13:08, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trivial Pursuit Editions

Hey Steve, just wanted to let you know I've picked up the Trivial Pursuit Editions page where you left off. (Props to you for all the work you invested in starting it.)

I decided to eliminate some redundancy and absorb the Subsidiary Card Sets list with the Master Game list as many were released in both formats and it because it was a bit of a chore to try to guess in which list you might find a particular title.

Wikipedia's not happy with the list being primarily U.S. editions, but oh well, no way am I going to try to open that can of worms with the tons of different editions released worldwide. Shikamoo (talk) 04:22, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
