Arthur Alvin A. Aguilar is a mixed martial artist, promoter, and Professor better known as "Alvin ". He was born on April 28, 1974 in Bacolod, Philippines. He engineered a MMA Promotion in the Philippines : The Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC, 2002-present); He claims to have founded the largest MMA and BJJ Team in the country: DEFTAC Ribeiro Jiu-jitsu Philippines (DEFTAC, 1996-present.) His Martial Arts journey began at the ripe age of 9. He proclaims himself to be a prominent personality in the Asian MMA community, allegedly a pioneering symbol of Philippine MMA and claims to have started the MMA and BJJ movement in South East Asia during the 1990’s without considering the fact that Pride and UFC are two main influencing factors that began the rise of mama popularity in South East Asia at that time.

Biography

In 2006, he was promoted to black belt by Brazilian black belt Kazeka Muniz.,[1] along with partners Irwin Tieng, Franz von Muhlfeld and Jed Dario, Aguilar organized the Universal Reality Combat Championship or URCC, a mixed martial arts promotions company which makes many claims about its primacy and preeminence, but has yet to contest Shooto, as the longest running mixed martial arts promotion in Asia, among many other claims it has made. In October 2008, Aguilar opened an MMA university, the B.A.M.F. Mixed Martial Arts School. His MMA gym, located in Parañaque, Philippines.[2]
