Antonio M. Echavarren Pablos (born 1955) is a Spanish chemist who has contributed to the recent advances in gold[1][2] and palladium[3] chemistry.

He obtained his PhD at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 1982. Since 1992 he is a full professor at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, where he heads the Research Group on Organometallic Chemistry Directed Towards Organic Synthesis.[4] Since 2004 he is working as Group Leader at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ).

In 2004 Echavarren was awarded the Prize in Organic Chemistry by the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry.[5] He was the Liebig Lecturer at the German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker) in 2006.[6]

He is a member of the Editorial Board of ChemCatChem since 2009[7] and a member of the International Advisory Board of the European Journal of Organic Chemistry since 2006,[8] of ChemSusChem since 2007,[9] and of Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry since 2008.[10]

Professor Antonio M. Echavarren, group leader at ICIQ, is a recipient of the prestigious 2015 Arthur C. Cope Scholar Awards given by the American Chemical Society.
