Chirag Pratap Lingam Goud popularly known as C.Pratap Lingam (1921–1982) is a former MLA of Chevella Constituency, Andhra Pradesh.[1] 

Personal Life

Sri Chirag Pratap Lingam was born to Sri Chirag Sharabha Lingam & Smt Lingamma garu in the village PedhaMangalaram of Chevella Constituency. Andhra Pradesh's Ex. Deputy CM Sri Konda Venkat Reddy, Ex CM Sri Marri Chenna Reddy are from the same village. Sri Pratap Lingam's Education was done in Bombay which was considered as a foreign nation for Nizam's Kingdom. He was married to Sri Punyavathi. This couple had 6 children , 1 boy and 5 girls. His Only son Sri Chirag Veerendra was an Advocate - High Court.

Founder of Goud Hostel

After various reforms and formations in the year 1951, Goud Hostel was established in Hyderabad by Sri Pratap Lingam Goud and other Legends. He was elected as the first General Secretary. He was elected as General Secretary again for 8 years from 1957-1964. He also acted as the President of Goud Hostel for 6 years from 1965-1970. He contributed to his best for the growth and development of Goud Hostel. He extended his support to Sri Bala Goud garu to become the President of Goud Hostel.

Besides his valuable contribution and support to Goud Hostel, His determination to help Kallu geetha karmikulu made him the Vice President of Andhra Pradesh Kallu Geetha Parisramika Sangham and followed his services as an advisor for the same. Sri Pratap Lingam was a staunch follower of Sri Gouthu Lachana.

Political Career

Sri Chirag Pratap Lingam's political career was started from his childhood.He started his revolt against Nizam Nawab along with Dr.Marri Chenna Reddy, Sri Vandematharam Ramachandra Rao and Sri Ramananda Theertham. He also acted as an Journalist. Later he lead the role patel for a Village Surangal in Moinabad.

IN 1977 general elections, He competed for Chevella Legislative Assembly from Janatha Party and defeated Indira National Congress contestant. He passed away in the year 1982 while he was an MLA of Chevella Constituency of Ranga Reddy Dist.

Sri Chirag Pratap Lingam is often quoted for his sacrifice, courage, charity, and selflessness. His charity and Selflessness sacrifice made him a real life hero in the hearts of chevella public.

He donated all his properties to the poor. And finally he rented a house for his family. This proves his sleflessness charity towards the poor people. His family currently resides in Beeramguda, Lingampally.
